That is the warning you will see if you try to use this product in a Dell Precision M90 laptop.
Caveat: I am a 15+ year IT veteran. I know my way around PC equipment.
When I received my order, I noted 3 things:
(1) Wow, that was a nice fast delivery
(2) Hmmm, this battery seems much lighter than the original
(3) Thoughtful ... they fully pre-charged the battery
I encountered the above error when I tried to use the battery. I checked connections, BIOS versions, etc. Once I was convinced the issue was with the battery, I went through the vendor's published RMA process.
I explained what I had encountered, and that the description for the product indicated compatibility. I assumed I just had a faulty battery. Without seemingly batting an eye, the vendor issued an RMA for an exchange. That was a nice ... no stress. I _was_ disappointed that I had to pay for return shipping myself for a faulty product (as opposed to a repair due to my own fault).
Unfortunately, the replacement battery exhibited the same error message. Again I contacted the vendor; again an RMA was immediately offered. I tried this time to get them to pay for return shipping, as I was reaching the point of financial diminishing returns. I pointed out that, at this point, if I had to pay for shipping, I'd rather use the money to purchase a Dell unit I could be certain of. There was no response to my request.
Northparts may, as they claim on their website, use "...vigorous quality control measures during and after the production." I don't know. I do know they seemed to stand behind their products.
So, I've just ordered a battery direct from Dell. I also have a new $50+ paperweight from Northparts.
