(More customer reviews)I have a Compaq R4000 purchased in 2004 laptop. Harddrive finally bit the dust. Luckily I kept personal files and pictures backed up. As you know you will lose all information and be frustrated at the loss. I purchased Toshiba MK 8025GAS - Hard drive - 80 GB - internal - 2.5" - ATA-100 - 44 pin IDC - 4200 rpm - buffer: 8 MB to replace its predicessor. I was here fast and works fine. Once installed however you know about the rest. Reloading all the software again and soon your on the road again. This hardrive life however if you use it all the time is 5yrs life. My computer was on everyday for five years and exactly decided to choke. Of course you can limit hardrive operations in your power settings to reduce its run time. Mine was always set to run. So if you have the same computer and like it I would recommend this option only if your hardrive is corrupt or disabled. Installation is not really that hard providing you have all of your software to reload that came with your laptop. Good luck.........Sincerly,Timothy E Pritchard
